Meeting the Moment: 2025 Impact Report
At Common Justice, our mission is to develop and advance solutions to violence that transform the lives of those harmed and foster racial equity without relying on incarceration.
In New York City, we operate the first alternative-to-incarceration and victim-service program in the United States that focuses on violent felonies in the adult courts. Locally and nationally, we leverage the lessons from our direct service to transform the justice system through partnerships, advocacy, and elevating the experience and power of those most impacted.
Rigorous and hopeful, we build practical strategies to hold people accountable for harm, break cycles of violence, and secure safety, healing, and justice for survivors and their communities. Because of this long-standing work, Common Justice is uniquely positioned to support our movement nationally in addressing violence in a way that meets the needs of those harmed, advances racial equity, and does not rely on police and prisons.
We have created solutions to violence, built partnerships nationwide, changed pervasive narratives, and built a base of survivors ready to exercise shared power.
We have been building for this moment, and we are ready to rise to it. To learn more about what we’ve been up to in 2025, read our impact report, Meeting the Moment: Building Community Based Solutions to Violence for Lasting Change here.
