Thank you for your interest in referring a case to Common Justice’s Alternative to Incarceration program in New York City. We currently offer our programming for cases pending in Bronx, Brooklyn, or Manhattan Supreme Court. Please review the eligibility requirements below and if the matter meets the criteria do not hesitate to reach out.
ELIGIBILITY
- The case is an indicted felony offense in the Bronx, Brooklyn or Manhattan
- The defendant was 16-28 years old at the time of arrest
- The defendant is willing to take responsibility for their actions
- There is an identifiable survivor/victim in the case
- The jail or prison offer is at least one year
- The defendant does not have severe substance use or severe mental health issues, nor severe cognitive deficits
- Note: we do not handle cases that involve intimate partner violence/domestic violence, sex crimes or familial violence.
