Sherrell Richardson is the Assistant Director of Organizing. Before joining Common Justice, she worked with The Child Center of NY as Program Director of the first NYPD Community Center in Brooklyn, NY, recruiting and serving over 500+ residents during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Prior to that, Mrs. Richardson served at The Brownsville Community Justice Center doing ATI, Workforce Development, and Placemaking with court-involved youth and community members. She launched the Young Women’s Collective first community organizing group for victims of violence in Brownsville, creating a program model focused on healing, professional development, and entrepreneurship.

She loves incorporating the arts into the work she does and is most proud of curating The Arts & Social Justice Symposium in 2016, creating dialogue around racial injustice globally, and using creative art such as dance, theater, music, and poetry as a medium of expression.
