Chanda Daniels is Director of Communications for Common Justice. On most days you can find her staying on top of the social media algorithm and implementing outreach campaigns for the organization. Whether it’s trying Instagram’s most recent update or reading the latest in the news, Chanda is always working to keep up-to-date on the best ways to incorporate an organization’s voice and mission in the conversation. Prior to joining Common Justice, she was Communications Director for the U.S. House of Representatives Congresswoman Lauren Underwood.
Chanda’s passion for communications started at her first position working for the New York City Mayor’s Office, and she built her skill set through her experience implementing communications strategies for organizations, such as, Control Arms, Human Rights Watch, New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA), and the International Women’s Media Foundation.
Additionally, Chanda co-founded The Reclaim, an intersectional gender equity organization to build community and grassroots advocacy in Washington, D.C.
Originally a New Yorker, Chanda completed her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Political Science and Psychology from Pace University in Lower Manhattan. When she’s not in the office, you can find her trying new restaurants, reading, and looking up the next cheap flight deal.
